Christopher Hatton Primary School, Camden, London
Christopher Hatton Primary School invited Artyface Community Art in to help them transform a grotty inner-city 'under-ground' playground area into a fantastical, colourful and inspiring space. We ran drawing workshops on the theme of 'exotic birds'. Pupils from Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 came to paint their creations with us for a week in their covered area in the playground, mixing, painting, printing and creating with acrylics. The results are tranformative as you can see!

One of the highlights of 2014 was having Jon Snow come and open the new playground for the school. The children did an amazing presentation and Jon cut the ribbon and gave an inspiring speech. Pupils entertained us and sang songs and then there were delicious homemade cakes, juice, tea and coffee. What a treat! We do love a good opening ceremony. It was a real honour to met such a hero and the school marked the occasion with a suitably amazing event.
"The playground has been transformed from a dark and gloomy space into a vibrant area the children love to be in."
